Features

There are three dedicated cleansing modes:

Posterior, Feminine, and Turbo/Vortex wash.

• The posterior wash cleans the back
• The Feminine wash cleans the feminine area
• The Turbo/Vortex wash is a more focused wash for the back.

Using the Posterior or Feminine sprays, you can turn on the oscillating feature which will move the wand back and forth to wash more thoroughly. You can also turn on the massage feature which will alternate the water pressure between soft and strong like you’re being given a massage.

The cleansing functions of the BB-2000 are customizable.  The water and seat temperature can be adjusted to three different levels.  They are low (93.2°F/34°C), medium (98.6°F/37°C), and high (104°F/40°C).  The nozzle position and water pressure can be adjusted to five different levels.  There is also an air dryer with adjustable temperatures.

The Bio Bidet BB-2000 has something called an Economy mode.  When this feature is turned on, it will save energy by maintaining the water and seat temperature at 89.6°F/32°C.  The BB-2000 Economy mode is slightly different than the one in the BB-1000, which prioritizes saving energy by only lowering the water temperature.

The nozzle cleans automatically before and after each use on the BB-2000.  There is also a function called the Nozzle Shower which is turned on by one of those mysterious buttons that you have to learn.  The Nozzle Shower essentially gives the nozzle a good clean.  Water will flow out and the nozzle will move back and forth against a scrubber.  You can also extend the nozzle out to give it a manual wipe.  Just press “Posterior” for about three seconds and the nozzle will come out.  When you’re finished you can press the “Stop” to return the nozzle.

There is a deodorizer for the BB-2000.  It is simply a fan that turns on as soon as you sit down to keep the smell from spreading.

A convenient feature we found on the Bio Bidet 2000 is you can program the remote to automatically oscillate and/or pulsate the water stream when starting your wash.  To put this in perspective – to “wash and oscillate” on another model, you would have to hit two buttons on the remote – Wash, then Oscillate.  Or if you wanted to “wash and oscillate and pulsate,” you would have to hit three buttons on the remote – Wash, then Oscillate, then Pulsate.  But with the BB 2000, you can program this into a single touch of a button.  We were really impressed by this feature as it’s not offered on any other bidet seat today.  It’s very useful since most users do use the oscillating feature when washing.

We also need to mention the night light and the clock on the remote control because they are really neat, unique features.  The night light is awesome and it really works!  And it makes the seat look really cool and your toilet high-tech.  It emits a cool blue light from the side of the seat so you can quickly find the toilet in the dark.  In fact, it even looks good during the day.  Our only wish is that it would automatically turn off during the day; you have to turn it off manually on the remote control.  Or you can leave it on 24 hours a day – since it’s powered by LED, the electricity draw is minimal.

The clock on the remote control is pretty useful too.  It’s not something you think about until you have it.  Because really, who has a clock in their bathroom?  Nobody.  But when you have a clock on your remote control, you do actually look at it.  You can see how much time you have left in the morning, as you’re getting ready in the bathroom.  Or you can see what time you’re putting the kids to sleep today, as you brush their teeth at night.  It’s handy to have.

And just a couple more quick hits:

(1) the spray on the BB 2000 is noticeably wider than the previous generation BB 1000 and wider than most other seats we’ve tested.  There were some complaints that the spray on the BB 1000 was a bit “sharp.”

(2) yes, you CAN turn off the automatic air deodorizer fan on the Bio Bidet 2000.  We’ve heard feedback from customers wishing they could turn the fan off on previous models, because of the “whirring” sound that goes on (especially if the bathroom is adjacent to a bedroom).

Finally, many people ask this question:

Do you need a hot water supply?  The answer is no.  The BB-2000 has this thing called a hybrid heating system which combines instant heating and tank heating.  Most bidet toilet seats work on either system, with instant heating being more common.  With instant heating, water passes through a heated coil which means that you might get some cold water before it warms up.  With tank heating, a water tank reservoir is used to store warm water, so you won’t get cold water but there is a limit as to how much warm water it can store.  Bio Bidet developed a hybrid system for the BB-2000 that uses both systems and allows consistent water flow and temperature.

Choosing a bidet toilet seat can be difficult.  You will have to pick from many makes and models to find one that is reliable, within your budget, and that you’ll enjoy using multiple times a year for many, many years.  We completely understand.  That’s why to help with your decision, we put together some reasons why the Bio Bidet BB-2000 might be the one you’re looking for.

• You want a warm air dryer to minimize the use of toilet paper
• You want a nozzle that self-cleans thoroughly
• You want a bidet toilet seat with a night light
• You have a 3-prong plug near the toilet or are willing to install one
• You want a sleek and slim design

Drawbacks

Here’s a list of the issues:

• The first drawback with this toilet seat bidet is the remote.  Most remotes use AA batteries but this one uses AAA batteries, which will probably have to be replaced more frequently.
• With other Bio Bidet toilet seats, we’re not really big fans of the Economy modes that lower water temperature.  The energy-saving functions on the Toto are much more customizable and save energy by lowering the less important features (heated seat) rather than the important ones (warm water spray).  That said, you probably won’t notice a difference in function when the BB-2000 is put in the energy-saving mode because it uses a hybrid heating system that keeps water warm and allows warm water to flow consistently.
• Water pressure, even at max settings, is probably only half of that of the BB-1000
• The water temperature isn’t freezing, but it’s not warm either; one can tell the water has been heated, but only slightly; the water temperature on the much cheaper BB-1000 is much warmer and far more comfortable than on the BB-2000
• The heated air dryer temperature and airflow speed for the BB-1000 is far superior to that on the BB-2000; the airflow is minimal, and one can barely tell the air is heated
• The nightlight description implies the light provides illumination of the bowl even though it’s on the side; all the nightlight really does is light up the side buttons on the seat
• This is pretty much useless since the main controls are on the remote, which doesn’t light up at all; on the BB-1000, at least the panel buttons and labels light up when they’re pushed; as a result, if you don’t have all of the button locations memorized on the BB-2000, you need to turn the lights on at night just to navigate the remote.
• The hole is not any bigger than that of the BB-1000, and is in fact smaller and not of the dimensions posted on the BioBidet website; still, I knew the hole size would be smaller than on a normal seat given that much of the hole space is taken up by the tank and mechanisms. One positive thing I’ll say about the unit is that is much more attractive and streamlined than the BB-1000, which seems bulky and awkward. But, when it comes to performance, the BB-2000 flat out sucks. If you’re going to buy a bidet toilet seat — and I highly recommend this as a personal hygiene device, I’d recommend the BB-1000, or better yet, one of the Toto Smart Toilet Seats.
